One of a kind

Please look carefully at the photos and read the description below!

To test exposure for larger cyanotype prints, I use 8 1/2 x 11" relief print paper. The exposures are tweaked from these tests, but the test prints themselves are great for experimenting with hand coloring, adding emulsion lifts, or- if the exposure is really close to right, simply a nice little print.

This is a 8.5x11",  underexposed print that I used to practice bleaching and toning with coffee. I really bleached this one to give it that brown tone. Just for fun, and to hopefully become a finished image that you will love- I added a Polaroid emulsion lift. The lift is made with a Polaroid I cut down, giving it a smaller dimension to fit this size image. I made the shape kind of like something bursting out of Pulpita! The work prints and studies give me a chance to play, experiment and have fun.

This print is exactly what you see- no mat, just a print. Process info and my signature are on the back in pencil.

Pulpita de La Mota is a cool looking peak that sits in the shadow of the much larger mountain beside it, La Mota. Pulpita tranlates to "pulpit"... the Pulpit of La Mota- I adore this description. La Mota and Pulpita de La Mota are what is seen from the campsite on the very Northern border of the interior of Big Bend Ranch State Park, Texas named La Mota 2 Campsite. One of my favorite spots!
